Obituary
Judy Lyn (Stolte) Thoren, age 81, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, with her husband by her side. She was born June 27, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of the late Sidney and Gladys (Johnson) Stolte.
After obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, Judy married John Thoren on July 17, 1965. After living and teaching in lower Michigan for over a decade, they became parents before moving to Neenah, WI.
After joining the congregation at Calvary Bible Church, she began the Early Childhood Instruction Program. She then focused on operating an in-home daycare for 25 years.
Her adoration of creation extended to the metamorphic cycle of monarchs and gardening. She raised and tagged up to 600 butterflies a year and her gardens were featured in a 2015 Garden Walk benefiting Homeless Connections.
Survivors include her husband, John; two sons: Jeremy Thoren, Jefferson Thoren; and four grandchildren: Kyla, Nolan, Parker and Dawson.
Judy was preceded in death by two brothers: Jon Stolte and Joel Stolte.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11:00AM, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah, with Rev. Michael Hansen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Please park in the rear (or west) parking lot at Calvary and enter Door 15 under the 'Welcome' sign." In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
