BRUCE WILLIAMS

Bruce S. Williams, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 3, after a long journey with Alzheimer's Disease. A lifelong resident of Neenah, Wisconsin, he was born in December 1937 and was the only child of Elmer and Gertrude (Stecker) Williams.
Bruce graduated from Neenah High School in 1955 and then earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1961. During his college years, he briefly served as a fireman for the City of Neenah and later in life continued as a volunteer fireman for the Township of Neenah. After college, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. He served as a Missile Combat Crew Commander in New York at Plattsburgh Air Force Base from 1962-65. While there he also learned to downhill ski and made lifelong friends.

Following the Air Force, Bruce worked at Banta Publishing and then Wikeland Wholesale before owning Palmer Sell Concrete & Masonry in Neenah for almost 25 years, formerly his father-in-law's business. In retirement, he worked for Krueger's True Value in the tool rental department.
Bruce was married for 51 years to his beloved wife, Judy. They raised their two daughters in Neenah and were long-time members together at Calvary Bible Church. Bruce trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and served at the church in many ways over the years. Bruce was a devoted father and grandfather and valued his friends. He loved humor and was known for his quick wit that kept people smiling. Bruce was an avid fisherman and hunter, and especially enjoyed hunting ducks and geese with his dog. He also enjoyed card games, music, and spending time with family and friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Judith Sell Williams; and daughters Emily (Brian) Spencer of Cincinnati, OH and Alissa (Steven “Mickey”) Detrick of Fletcher, OH and their son Levi, Bruce's only grandchild. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Dr. MaryAnn Chung of Virginia, Janet (Gary) Anderson of Larsen, WI; brothers-in-law Jonathan Sell and Kevin Sell both of Neenah; nephews Kai (Amber) Chung of Virginia, Gai Chung of North Carolina, Joseph (Sandra) Anderson of Marion, WI, and Nicolaus Anderson of Larsen, WI; niece Dawn Anderson of Larsen, WI; and many cousins and extended family.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his in-laws, Palmer and Marion Sell; brother-in-law Palmer Sell II; and Dr. Ho Chung (husband of MaryAnn).

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on November 14, 2024, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
