MELVIN BURSKEY

Melvin Burskey, age 82, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Cherry Meadows. He was born June 7, 1942, in Milwaukee, son of the late Ferdinand and Lucille Burskey.

Melvin grew up near Mosinee, WI, and spent many summers working on local farms where he helped bale hay and pick pickles. He married Mary Jane Sikorski on November 9, 1968.  And they stuck threw thick and thin for 56 years.

Melvin retired from Wisconsin Tissue after 40 years of employment. He truly loved life and took flying lessons when he was young. He attended the Edgar Gas and Steam show each summer for many years. Melvin enjoyed cutting grass, planting trees, Nascar, model airplanes, motorcycles, fishing and camping, and restoring his '55 Allis-Chalmers tractor with his son. He also built his own stock car, a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air. It had a 348 corvette engine, number 126 and ran dirt tracks in the valley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; two children: Jaclynn Burskey, Paul Burskey; his dog, Baxter and cat, Monkey; two sisters: Maxine (Donald) Gorski, Carol Cartmell; sister-in-law, Glenda Burskey; sister-in-law Myrna Burskey; and Melvin's son Paul's special partner Paula.

Melvin was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus; sister, Rita Hanson; brother-in-law, James Cartmell; and a brother Gerald Burskey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Loescher officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
