MARY CANE

Mary Arlene Kleinfeldt Johnson Cane “Mickey” passed away December 6, 2024 at the age of 96 after a fall at home. She is survived by her longtime friend and anesthesia coworker, Priscilla Kieckhafer.

Mickey wrote: I was born in Oshkosh, WI on December 27, 1927 to Walter and Ella Olson Kleinfeldt. Because of Dad's work, we moved a lot. I was in seven grade schools and four high schools. I graduated from Oshkosh High School, Oshkosh Business College, Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing (RN), and the University of Michigan Nurse Anesthesia School (CRNA).

I worked as a CRNA at Norwegian American Hospital, Illinois Masonic Hospital, both in Chicago, and at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI until I retired. I was also a former member of the American Associating of Nuse Anesthetists (AANA) and a member of Valley Shrine #10 WSJ. Early on I was a certified lifeguard and EMT.

I was married and divorced twice.

Two wonderful parents provided lessons in piano, voice, and dancing, as well as honesty, good morals, and the value of a dollar. 

Hobbies included roller and ice skating, curling, skiing (both water and snow), fishing, rosemaling, decorative painting, ceramics, gardening, knitting, crocheting, bridge, reading, and riding my moped.

I will be cremated and buried on the family plot in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh, where my stone has been waiting. I have thoroughly enjoyed life, and God has been good to me, but I don't mind leaving. My parents and all my dogs are waiting over the Rainbow Bridge. There will be no funeral.
