John David Tiedt, Neenah, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2024. He was born in Appleton, WI to Wilmer and Marcella (Doell) Tiedt.
John married the love of his life, Patricia (Schabo) Tiedt in 1982. They shared 42 wonderful years. Pat's care and companionship were a constant source of strength for John. Together they traveled, attended car shows, and were actively involved in their children's and grandchildren's lives.
John is survived by his children: Matthew (Ashley) Tiedt of Neenah, and Ashley (Gary Juedes) Bahr of Neenah. He was a proud grandfather to Charlie “CJ” Tiedt, Madaline and MaKenna Perry, Aubrey and Henry Bahr. His surviving siblings include Charlie (Sue) Tiedt of Bradenton, FL; Ellen Tiedt, Kaukauna; Dana Tiedt, Los Angeles, CA; and Sue (Bruce) Hansen, Maui, HI; and sister-in-law, Valerie Tiedt, Bradenton, FL. John graduated from Neenah High School in 1968 and served honorably in the Army from 1970 to 1972. He had a fulfilling career as a semi-truck driver, working for several companies, with his favorites being Toliba Cheese, Hayes Manufacturing, and Fleet Farm.
Throughout his life, John cherished his nine corvettes, ranging from 1961 to 2024. His most treasured Corvette was his ‘66, purchased from his father. John also shared a passion for racing with his brothers Charlie and Ruby, racing Rupp and Yamaha snowmobiles in the Chargers Snowmobile club. John and Charlie also dragged a '68 Camaro in the Top Eliminator at W.I.R.
John was an avid attendee of car shows, a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt #3, and a Packer fan. He enjoyed Friday night fish fries in Wisconsin and grouper in Florida, and spending time with Pat and their children and grandchildren. John cherished the camaraderie of his friends, especially during their taco Tuesdays.
No matter how you knew him— Big Daddy, Senior, Papa John, or Grandpa—John's passion for life and fun-loving attitude will forever be remembered. Per Big Daddy's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life (Car Show) planned for Saturday, July 5 2025.
