ROBERT FRITZ

Bob Fritz (age 85) of Neenah, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024.  

He was born to the late Paul and LaVerna Fritz, in Oshkosh, WI.  Bob's younger years were spent living in Grass Range, Forest Grove and Roy, MT.  He loved working the ranch, training his horse, Tampico, helping neighbors, and spending time with his best  friend,  “Bee” Gregory.  His family moved back to the Midwest when he was 14, eventually settling in Wautoma, WI.  Bob graduated from Wautoma high school. While a student at WHS, he met his future wife, Linda. Bob & Linda were parents to six children; Dawn, Debbie, Diana, Cindy, Brian & Jacob.

Bob served in the Army 101st Airborne Division, where he trained as a paratrooper and found his passion for skydiving.  After trying out a few different jobs, he found his calling at the Menasha Police Department.  While working at the department, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Police Science from UW Oshkosh.  He was proud to be a member of the Menasha PD and was proud to have gone through officer training at The FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA.  Right up until his passing, he remained a police officer at heart.

In the late 70's, Bob was a part of the Neenah-Menasha Police Boxing Club and coached Youth Sports baseball.  Throughout the years, Montana still held a special place in his heart and he enjoyed many trips back with Linda, with family, and with friends. He enjoyed visiting Jane and family at the Gregory Ranch, and visiting old friends, and many national parks and Wilderness areas.  He once said that his idea of Heaven was the mountains of Montana.  One of his favorite trips was a fishing trip that he took with Brian, riding on horseback into the back country.  Bob was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the WI Badgers and loved attending and photographing his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events.  Up until the time of his passing, he was an active member of Faith Global Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, and their children; Dawn (Dan) Barker, Debbie (Tim) Leist,  Diana (Jim Leintz) Fritz, Cindy (John) Siegel, Brian (Lori) Fritz and Jacob Fritz, their 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his siblings; Ron (Diane) Fritz, Nancy (Dave) Cronce, and Gene (Judy Johnson) Fritz, cousins, and In-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

The family would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to his wonderful care team at Dimensions Living. DL became his home away from home where he enjoyed teasing the staff and “policing” the unit.  We would also like to thank his many friends and church family for being such an important part of his life. A memorial fund has been established for Faith Global Methodist church.

Bob – brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend – you are loved and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Faith Global Methodist Church,1025 Tullar Rd. Neenah, WI 54956, with a visitation starting at 9:30 am until the time of service.
