DWAYNE DORSCHNER

Neenah- Dwayne Harlin Dorschner, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, with family by his side. He was born on September 10, 1934, in Wisconsin, the son of Delwin (Gladys) Dorschner.

Dwayne went into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, where he was awarded multiple medals and citations. After serving, he met his beloved wife Shirley (Jedwabny) Dorschner, and the two were married on August 2, 1958, in Waukegan, IL. They went on to have two daughters.

Dwayne and Shirley enjoyed going to Las Vegas to play the penny machines, sometimes going twice per year. Later in life, the two went on bus rides to Island Casino. They went to breakfast every morning, even sometimes twice a day, at the Black Bear Family Restaurant, Appleton. The family had wonderful holiday parties and loved spending time with each other. Dwayne was a proud grandpa to two grandchildren.

Dwayne taught junior bowling at Astro Lanes Bowling for about 15 years in his younger years. In his free time, he was always crafting something with wood – birdhouses, windmills, wood flowers, and outdoor décor. Doty Island gave Dwayne an award for best outdoor décor. 

He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters: Diana Dorschner, Lori (Doug) Malliet; grandchildren: Riley Malliet, Collin (Samantha) Malliet; and his beloved cat Penny. 

A funeral service for Dwayne is being held at Neenah' s Westgor Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00am. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of the service. A burial will take place at a later date.
