BEVERLY WICHMAN

On May 4, 2022, at age 86, Beverly Ann (Bodway) Wichman entered into God's loving arms surrounded by the love of her family at Touchmark Assisted Living in Appleton.  She joined her beloved "Bud" in heaven, just in time to dance with him again in celebration of their 66th wedding anniversary on May 5.

Beverly was born on November 1, 1935, in Appleton. Her father was a builder, so she moved quite regularly throughout the Fox Valley as a young girl.  As a young woman she worked at a bank and a wedding shop.  Beverly met her Marine, Bud, and they married on May 5, 1956.  They started their family of 7 children, eventually moving to Neenah, where Bev enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. Beverly especially loved creating beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, as well as sewing and knitting for her family.  She created fond memories at the family cottage in Mountain, WI with their children and the entire extended Wichman family.  Beverly and Bud enjoyed their retirement years, with travels to Europe, Alaska, and many other travels across the U.S. They also enjoyed travels to friends on the East Coast and kids living in Hawaii, Florida and Arizona.  

Beverly had a strong Catholic faith.  In recent years she dealt with many health issues, but she always kept a smile on her face along with her characteristically sharp sense of humor and playful attitude.  She would respond to any difficult situation with “it is what it is" or "I's fine,” and she maintained that easy going nature throughout.  

Beverly leaves behind her children: Kathy (David) DeWilde, Cindy Meyers, Terribeth (Kevin) Wood, David Wichman, Nancy (Robert) Hans, and Daniel (Michelle) Wichman; as well as her many grandchildren:  Bradley DeWilde, Ryan (Melissa) DeWilde, Matthew DeWilde, Michael (Kyler) DeWilde, Nicole (Chad) Hamilton, Judson (Megan) Meyers, Carli Wood, Wilson Wood, Heather (Michael) Voss, Thomas Wichman, Cassandra Krueger, Evan Hans, Joshua Jensen, Zachary Wichman, Tyler Jensen, and Dylan Wichman.  She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren as well as her beloved siblings, Barbara Abendroth, Mary Sedo, and Gerald (Naomi) Bodway. Beverly is further survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael (Judith) Wichman, Henry “Skip” (Jean) Wichman, Mary (Joseph) Nemecek, and Patricia (James) VanOss. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan "Bud" Wichman; her son, Scot Wichman; her infant daughter, Mary Ann; her son-in-law, Judd Meyers; her grandchildren, Carl Meyers and Jason Wichman; her parents, Eva and Gus G. Bodway; her parents-in-law, Henry and Laniece Wichman; and her siblings, Donald (Barbara) Wichman and Eugene (Susan) Wichman.

Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, on Wednesday May 11, 2022 from 9:30AM to the time of service at 11:30AM, followed by lunch in the cafeteria.  Beverly's children would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Steven Knaus for his years of care for both of our parents.  We also send a special thank you to the memory care staff at Touchmark for all of the loving care you've provided to our Mom over these years.  

"Sleep with the angels, Mumma.”  You will be missed.  You will be remembered.  And you will always be loved.
