DONALD GEURTS

Donald M. Geurts, age 78, of Greenville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, early Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born June 13, 1946, in Neenah to the late John and Mary Geurts, and was married to Mary Rabideau on January 24, 1970. 

Don was a talented woodworker who enjoyed making toys for his sons. He also made beautiful wooden outdoor furniture such as decorative benches, Adirondack chairs, and small tables. He loved being outdoors and camping with Mary in the north woods. They especially liked Boulder Junction and Door County and over the years transitioned from a pop-up camper to a more luxurious park model trailer, and then to a cabin. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating.

Don was also a very generous man, volunteering many hours running Bingo at St. Pat's in Menasha and employing his woodworking skills to make toys to donate. He loved playing cards and was highly competitive. He also enjoyed a good Friday Fish Fry but always detested driving on major highways or in any traffic. 

In addition to his family, Don was an animal lover. His dog, Tabby, was cherished, as were his other springer spaniels.

Don is survived by his sons: Trent Geurts and Todd Geurts; granddaughter, Addison Geurts; siblings: Geri Yingling; Patty Geurts; Kathleen Polifka; and Mark Geurts; and by sisters-in-law: Carol (George) Sokoloski and Barb Chambers. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2020. 

Per Don's request, no funeral service will be held.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the nursing staff of the 5th floor at ThedaCare-Neenah as well as to the hospice team for their care and compassion.
