JOYCE KUNDE

April 14, 1937 - April 06, 2025

Obituary

Joyce A. Kunde, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at their cottage in Waupaca on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born April 14, 1937, in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Ebersberger) Beck.

Joyce married Clarence Kunde on June 22, 1957, and shared 67 ¾ years together. She lovingly enjoyed baking cookies and her date nut funeral cake, sewing, knitting, cross-stitch and making many unique homemade gifts. Joyce especially loved all the times spent at their Cottage on the Chain-o-Lakes, in Waupaca, fishing, playing cribbage, solitaire, board games and puzzles. She loved watching and hearing about all her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed talking about sports and watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Marquette and Kansas. Joyce always said, “We're so Blessed.” “I had a Good Life”.

Joyce was the Volunteer Coordinator for the Pink Ladies, Red Coats and Candy Strippers at Theda Clark for many years. She and Clarence were long-time supporters of Ducks Unlimited Conservation, ThedaCare and St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and members of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence; three daughters: Cathy (Rob) Goodman, Linda (Jeff) Kocen, Ann (Gregg) Wheeler; grandchildren: Marc, Michael (Lauren) and David (Elizabeth) Goodman, Scott (Gina) and Kristen Kocen, Nicole (Conner) Van Zeeland and Emily (Beaux) Myers; great-grandchildren: Emma Kocen, Bradyn Goodman, Charlotte Kocen, Camdyn Goodman and baby boy Van Zeeland on the way!

Further survived by her brother, Tom (Jan) Beck, sister-in-law, Sarah Beck; nephews: Brian (Alyssa) Beck, John (Casey) Beck; brother-in-law: Jerry (Patty) Kunde; sisters-in-law: Joanne Kunde, Jeanne Kunde, Sue (Ron) Verstegen; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis; a brother, Dan; a nephew, Daniel; her in-Laws: Clarence and Mary Kunde; and brothers-in-law: Donald Kunde and Dick Kunde.

Thank you, Joyce, Mom, Grammie, and GG for teaching us all how to cherish the Beauty and Wonders of Life! (and how to sew, make applesauce, chocolate chip cookies and “FEB” fish).

A private Mass will be held in Joyce's honor. Instead of flowers; memorials may be made to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Neenah.

Clarence and Family, I am sorry to read the news of Joyce's passing. I will pass this information on to Fred at a good time, as he is currently dealing with health issues of his own. Best wishes to you, Clarence. ~jrl
