Obituary

Lois M. Hoppe, age 93 of Neenah, passed away early Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was born in Larsen, WI to the late Otto and Martha (Hinz) Mueller on November 22, 1931. After growing up on the family farm in Clayton, she married Carlton “Hop” Hoppe on September 6, 1958.

Lois was a longtime member of Immanuel UCC in Neenah and was a dedicated homemaker all her life. She enjoyed baking and just taking care of others.

Lois is survived by her children: Jody Hoppe and Jon (Julie) Hoppe; grandchildren: Sam (Kaylee) and Katie (Eric); and by great-grandchildren: Henry and Harper. She is further survived by her sisters: Jeanette Verrier; Jackie Jones; Grace Danielsen; sister-in-law Caroline Mueller; and by many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hop; by all of her brothers: Aldon, Orville, Harlan, Dennis, Lyle, Norman, and Marvis; and by her sisters: Rachel, Marjorie, and Hazel.

A funeral service for Lois will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Lois will join Hop at Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Lois' name.

The Hoppe family would like to extend a warm thank you to Dr. Steven Knaus and his team, as well as the nurses and staff at Valley VNA and ThedaCare Hospice for their care and compassion over the years.

Mrs. Hoppe was our neighborhood when I was a kid growing up on maple street. When Sam and Katie would visit we'd come over and watch nick Jr and eat her chocolate chip cookies. I remember hide and seek in the basement and hiding in the bushes that lined the back of her yard. I'd always hear my mom and Mrs. Hoppe talking over the small picket fence while she hung laundry. She was always so kind to us and treated me and my brother like grand children too. We sure did love her! I'm sorry for your loss, I know she'll be deeply missed. Praying comfort for your family.

My deepest condolences to Jon & Jody. I remember your mom Jon, chasing you with a broom and Jody, I remember you were so sweet when I ran into you, walking over to see Kay Foley. Those were good times. Take care of yourselves. Say a prayer that Lois is spending the rest of time with Hop.
