CAROL ZENKER

Carol Margerite Zenker, age 100, passed away peacefully at Valley VNA Senior Care on May 6, 2025, where she lived for the past seven years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, WI.

Carol was born on March 27, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI to Arnold and Hilda Burg. She attended Lutheran High School there. She married Louis Edward Zenker on June 3, 1950, and they were blessed to have 50 years together until his death in 2001. Together they enjoyed their long-term home in Brookfield, WI and their lake home on Lake Puckaway, WI.

Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Burg. Carol is survived by her son, David Zenker (Mary) of Neenah; and her daughter, Laura Wegner (Ronald) of Kansas City, MO. Carol had five grandchildren: Jonathan Zenker (Amanda) of Oshkosh, Erin Collins (Chris) of Kansas City, MO, Kristin O'Grady (David) of DePere, Katie Zenker of Seattle, WA and Amy Wegner of Kansas City, MO. Carol had six great grandchildren: Fira Collins, Corbin Zenker, Bray Collins, Ethan O'Grady, Darcy Zenker and Owen O'Grady.

Carol was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed knitting and made hundreds of pairs of baby booties for clients at the WELS Lutherans for Life Center where she volunteered.  She loved to cook and bake, especially desserts. She appreciated art and was very proud of her many oil paintings. She so enjoyed singing, gardening and the many facets of lake life.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak St., Neenah, with Rev. D.J. Engelbrecht officiating. Visitation at the church from 1:00PM until the time of service. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Neenah Lutheran School, 410 Oak St., Neenah, WI 54956, specifically to the art department, honoring Carol's love for Lutheran education and her deep love of art.
