CAROL BAVCEVIC

Carol Ann Bavcevic, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025 in Appleton, WI. She was born and raised in Chicago to the late Joseph and Patricia (Beron) Principato.

Carol was brought up in Chicago amongst a large family of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She lived in Oak Lawn, IL for over 40 years. A very active woman, she was involved in “club” with her friends, enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing, and dancing. When her children were young, she volunteered in their classrooms and field trips, and she was always an active member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea church and West Lawn Little League where she was team mom and later a coach to the first girl's traveling 12- inch softball team.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who she cherished and adored.

Carol worked as a Secretary at the Cook County Courthouse for a Judge at 26th & California where she retired at age 75.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Bavcevic; son, Michael (Kellie) Basevic; grandchildren: Thomas, Megan, Danielle, Ashley, and Brett; and great-grandchildren: Sophia, Lilly, and Stella as well as by many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert “Bobby” Bavcevic; and her brother, Joseph “Butch” Principato.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Our Lady of the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1334 W. Flournoy St., Chicago, IL, 60607 from 9:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. A memorial mass will be held directly following, at 11:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
