William Springborn

William Kenneth “Bill” Springborn William Kenneth “Bill” Springborn, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was proudly born in Neenah, Wisconsin, the third of seven children, to Kenneth and Isabel Springborn. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his sister, Susan Maxfield.

After graduating from Stanley-Boyd High School, Bill went on to proudly serve his country during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Constellation. Upon returning home, he met the mother of his five children, Patricia Springborn and began working for the Soo Line Railroad. Throughout his life, Bill lived in several Wisconsin communities, including Stanley-Boyd, Waupaca, and West Bend. In the mid-1980s, he returned to Neenah, the city he loved, where he continued raising his family and building a life filled with memories.

Bill was a man who believed in setting goals and seeing them through. At the age of 50, he graduated from Fox Valley technical college—a tremendous accomplishment that was a source of great pride for him. In his younger years, Bill was an enthusiastic fisherman and had a lifelong love of sports. He was a passionate Packers fan, and depending on how the game was going, you could hear him either cheering loudly or, as his family fondly remembers, swearing at the television. NASCAR race days brought out another side of Bill, as the sound of the cars could be heard throughout the neighborhood with the volume turned all the way up. Bill also enjoyed a good game of cribbage or Scrabble. Many treasured memories were made around the table with family and friends, filled with laughter, friendly competition, and stories that will be remembered for years to come.

Bill is survived by his five children: Bryan (Ann) Springborn, Kim (Jon) Najdowski, Kevin Springborn, Peter (Kaitlin) Springborn, and Shawn (Rebecca) Springborn; his grandchildren, Chantell (Jake) King, Jacob (Kacie) Olsen, Ethan Springborn, Harper, Wrenley, and Eisen Springborn; and his great-grandchildren, Kali Olsen, Lucas Olsen, Jaxson Olsen, and Hazel King. Also survived by a large, loving extended family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakeshore Manor and the Unity Hospice team for the care, compassion, and support they provided to Bill and his family.

Bill had very specific wishes for how he wanted to be remembered. He wanted everyone to “party,” have fun, laugh, make memories, and ultimately have his ashes spread in Lake Winnebago. While we may not be able to execute his wishes exactly as he envisioned, we will honor the spirit of those wishes by celebrating his life surrounded by the people he loved.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home Chapel, N2665 County Road QQ King, WI 54946. A visitation will be held at the chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Burial to follow at the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King.

Rather than mourning only the loss of Bill, his family hopes you will remember the laughter, the stories, the games, the fishing trips, the sports, and all the memories that made him who he was. Rest easy, Dad. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
