Jennifer Elson

Jennifer Marie Elson, age 55, passed away peacefully from complications of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) on December 27, 2025 at American Grand Assisted Living Suites in Neenah, WI surrounded by her Mom, her cat, Jacko, and other loved ones under the care of hospice. She was born on June 15, 1970 in Manitowoc, WI, the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Mary (Gibbons) Elson. Jenny graduated from Xavier High School in Appleton, WI in 1988. She first attended University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, then transferred to and graduated from Marion College of Fond du Lac, WI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She later went on to complete a Master’s of Science Degree in Holistic Nutrition. Jenny worked in sales, including co-owning a Wicks ‘N’ Sticks franchise with her Mom in Fox River Mall in Appleton. Her last position, which she especially enjoyed, was working with her friend, Elias, in his business buying and selling national and international stamps. She traveled nationally and internationally working in this position.

Jenny was known to be warm, loving, sweet, kind, funny, and thoughtful by all who came into contact with her. Jenny enjoyed music and loved going to concerts. She also enjoyed traveling, including to her Mom’s home country of Ireland as well as other trips with her family within the United States and to other countries, including Canada and England. Jenny traveled with Mary, her best friend since kindergarten, to the Caribbean Islands, France, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Finland, and Ireland.

Jenny was a volunteer with the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance and was a co-leader in organizing and implementing a day-long fundraiser for the Alliance. She helped to secure sponsors and food vendors as well as provide games and prizes for a day of family fun!

Despite being diagnosed with TSC and seizures at age 8, Jenny was able to lead a fulfilling and productive life until a little over 3 years ago when her health began to decline. About 2 years ago, when she began to require assistance with activities of daily living, she moved into American Grand where she was loved by residents and staff alike. Jenny even kept her sense of humor until the end.

Jenny is survived by her mother, aunts and uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents, and maternal uncles.  

Visitation starts at 10:00am on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Westgor Funeral Home, located at 1140 Appleton Rd, Menasha, WI 54952 followed by Celebration of Life Services at 11:30am with Fr. Bill Swichlenberg (from St. Mary Catholic Community in Appleton) officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance.
