Obituary

Kristin (Hoffmann) Powley, age 71, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, with her husband, Kent, and children, Ryan and Leah, by her side.

She was born in Green Bay, WI, daughter of Grace Mary (Everson) and Robert L. Hoffmann. After obtaining a BA from St. Norbert College and an MBA from Marquette University, Kristin had a career in finance in Milwaukee until moving to Neenah in 1991. While raising her family here, she was an involved school and community volunteer: she served on the board of the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust and was a long-time volunteer at the St. Joseph Food Program. She was also an active member of PEO Chapter EB in Neenah.

Kristin is to be remembered for her humor, her compassion, her courage, and her positive outlook, all of which served her well during these last challenging years. She was a loving and engaged mother and a dedicated friend, with a kind and welcoming spirit, and touched the lives of many people. An “unofficial therapist” to many, Kris always had the right words to share with friends and family when they sought life advice, comfort, or inspiration. She was always thinking of everyone else, giving her love and focus to others until the very end.

Kristin’s passions included sailing, tennis, cribbage, reading, and travel. She was blessed to have had many unique travel opportunities and cultural experiences with family and friends throughout her life. One of her lifelong pursuits was to find the world’s best Rueben sandwich.

In addition to her husband, Kent, and children, Ryan and Leah, Kristin is survived by Sisters: Gretchen Hoffmann, Ingrid (Michael) Merkatoris, Karin (Paul) Hoffmann-Hoagland; In-laws:  Scott (Jeanne) Powley, Todd Powley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Joseph Doherty.

Kristin’s family thanks Dr. Shannon Schmidt, her incredible care team, and Kristin’s hospice nurse Grace for their constant guidance, encouragement and compassion. It ‘took a village’ and Kristin appreciated each and every one of you.

Visitation will be held at Westgor Funeral Home Neenah on Saturday, December 5, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony and reception. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on Westgor's YouTube page.  Private family burial will take place at a future date.

As this is a celebration, brightly colored attire is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, and if so inclined, please consider a memorial donation to St.Joseph Food Program or a charity of your choice. She would like that.
