Jeffery Van Camp

Jeffery Van Camp

August 16, 1958 - August 23, 2025

Obituary

Jeffery Ronald Van Camp, age 67, has suddenly entered into eternal rest and found eternal happiness with his mom on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Jeffery was born on August 16, 1958, in Appleton, WI, to the late Hilda (Rasmussen) and Alfred Van Camp. After graduating from high school in 1977, Jeffery enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served for 6 years. He spent 3 years in Germany and loved it so much that he didn't call or write home. His sister eventually called the Sergeant to tell Jeffrey to call and write home.

After he finally made his way home from Germany, Jeffery began work as a truck driver. He spent 35 years as a cement truck driver for MCC making many friends who knew him by his radio name, “Camper”. Jeff had no shortage of buddies to share a beer with after hours. Even after his retirement two years ago, Jeffery would still meet up with his friends from MCC at Flagstone Bar on Thursday nights.

Jeffery was a proud veteran, a proud family man, and a proud motorcycle enthusiast. He truly enjoyed spending time with family often taking family members for rides on his Harley. He also loved riding his bike around with his friend Paul. His family knew him to be reliable with a great sense of humor and always running on a schedule. In fact, when the family made plans, you needed to be sure not to schedule over Jeffery's naptime!

To follow his Thursdays at Flagstone, Jeff often enjoyed a fish fry on Friday nights. Before losing his mother two years ago, he could be counted on to bring her dinner every Friday. On Saturday nights, he'd get together with his brother Del for a few beers and a campfire. On Sunday's, they'd all go by his brother Jack and sister-in-law Lynn's house to catch up and have a couple beers to cap off weekend. He was an all-around friendly person who appreciated his friends and loved his family deeply. They will all miss “Uncle Jeff” just as dearly.

Jeffery is survived by his siblings: Barbara (Dennis) Wagner, Gerald (Wendy) Van Camp, Gary (Dawn) Van Camp, Jack (Lynn) Van Camp, Randy (Sarah) Van Camp, Delbert (Penny) Van Camp; godchildren: Amanda and Justin; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends Steve and Paul.

Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents and dog Chichi.

A memorial service for Jeffery is being held on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Ave. Neenah, WI, with visitation starting at 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm, and military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Veterans Affairs Association.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Neenah Police Department, Neenah Fire Department, the Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team, and the Neenah Emergency Medical Transport team. Thank you for your care at the sudden and unexpected loss of our brother!

My condolences to the family. I haven’t seen Jeff in a lot of years but remember growing up with him when everyone lived on JJ. Those were some good times and many memories!

I started in concrete the same year Jeff became a driver. He always showed up with a smile and good attitude. I also love My Harley and would talk often to him about my motorcycle trips. So sorry for the families loss.
