Obituary
Michael E. “Donkey” Diehl, age 46 of Larsen, passed away suddenly early Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born in Neenah to Daniel and Christine (Cross) Diehl on May 13, 1970 and is married to Sherry (Wellhoefer).
Michael was a graduate of Winneconne High School and had worked at Bemis for many years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Clayton-Winchester and Boom Bay Fire Departments, where he was instrumental in the purchase of an air boat for ice rescues. Michael loved to hunt and fish, but his greatest joy was making people laugh. He had a love of life that kept a lot of people going. He had a great gift of helping and caring for others and was an amazing listener. He was so well loved and had so many friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael will be missed by his wife, Sherry; his children: Jacob (girlfriend Becca), and Nicholas Diehl, and Julie and Brad Harvath; his parents, Daniel and Christine Diehl; and Sherry's parents, Vic and Connie Wellhoefer. He is further survived by his grandmother, Patricia Diehl; his sister-in-law, Paula (Paul) Wellhoefer; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell and Bernice Cross, and paternal grandfather, Robert Diehl.
A memorial service for Michael will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
