JOYCE BRANTMEIER

Joyce Yvonne (Marohn) Brantmeier passed away on December 29, 2016 at Cherry Meadows after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.  Joyce was born May 20, 1947 at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah (Winnebago County), Wisconsin.  She was the daughter of Henry and Vivian (Bockin) Marohn.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah.  Her marriage to Michael John Brantmeier took place on May 21, 1966.  Joyce worked for Kimberly-Clark Corporation/Lakeview Mill in her earlier years, for her husband Mike (Allstate Insurance), and more recently as a CNA for Home Helpers doing in-home care. Joyce could never see someone who needed help go without the help they needed and because of that trait she was well-liked by her clients.

She was an active person in her church and you could find her volunteering for whatever needed to be done.  She loved Christmas.  When Christmas came she was planning the decorations for church as well as those at home.  At home the Christmas tree, the Dickens display, along with so many other decorations went up that the house was filled with the Christmas spirit from one end to the other.  She was very meticulous…whatever she did had to be done the very best she could accomplish.  She and Mike were both on the high school reunion committees for many years.  She took it very seriously and wanted the event to be the best each time it was planned.  She genuinely liked to talk to people and Mike said she was the only person he knew that could talk a half an hour with someone who had the wrong number. 

Not only was her caring reserved for people, she loved animals and her little dogs Solo and several “Schatzies”.  She volunteered at the Neenah Animal Shelter and felt so bad that their facility needed work, that she planned to work on a fund raiser to upgrade the facility.

Joyce took great pride in her outward appearance.  She loved to get “dolled up” and she loved to help her loved ones look their best as well.  She enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Anderson Lake.  Joyce's greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren.  Her beauty, her outgoing personality, and her unique laugh will be missed by all who knew Joyce.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Mike; and two children: Kelly (husband Stacy) Van Scoyk, De Pere; and Michael Brantmeier, Fox Lake; grandchildren:  Christian and Kelsey Van Scoyk; and Taylor Marie Brantmeier;  sisters:  Jean Spiegelberg; Carol Nagel; Kathleen (Steve) Gaschler; and brothers: James (Patti) Marohn; Paul Marohn; Tom (Kay) Marohn; Mark (Candy) Marohn; her sisters-in-law: Maureen Brantmeier and Margaret (Marge) Brantmeier; her aunt Margaret (Marohn) Schultz; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judith Ann; sister-in-law Mary Brantmeier-Bartman; and brother-in-law Robert Spiegelberg

The Christian Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah) with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating.  Friends will be received directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Peace Lutheran Church, Neenah and the Neenah Animal Shelter.
