EUGENE BOELTER

Eugene Raymond Boelter passed away at his home on Saturday, September 23 from a heart attack at age 78. He was born November 25, 1938 in Bryant, WI at the home of his parents, Julius and Sabina Boelter, who preceded him in death.

Gene married Sharon Dey on November 23, 1957 in Polar, WI. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on Thanksgiving Day.

Gene worked as a farmer in Bryant, and then began a career at Neenah Paper until he retired at age 60. Everyone who knew him had to hear about the Minnesota Vikings almost daily. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool and ball in his younger years. He especially liked playing cards during his lunch break at work with fellow employees; and Sheepshead and Cribbage with relatives and friends. He hunted for many years and spent some of his time at the casino as he aged. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandson partake in sports and other activities.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; a daughter, Kelly (Dave) Hoem; and a grandson, Brennan Hoem. He is further survived by his sister, Verna Bauer; and sisters-in-law, Janet Carlson, Jean Long, Carol Geiger, and Bernice Dey; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his brothers: Arnold, Charles, Harold, Alvin, James and Oscar Boelter; and by his sisters: Louise Selenske, Irene Meyer, and Margaret Schilcker.

The funeral service for Gene will be held at NOON on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 South Park Ave., Neenah, Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
