CASSANDRA VERKUILEN-MATSCHI

Cassandra “Cassie” Verkuilen-Matschi, age 46, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on June 22, 1977 and grew up in Neenah and Menasha. Cassie met her soul-mate, John Matschi, in 2016 and the two were married on September 21, 2019 and they shared countless memories together. She was the proud owner of Survivor Nutrition on Jackson Street in Oshkosh and loved serving her community. Cassie was a tremendously welcoming person who made everyone feel at home. She was a fierce fighter and a very loyal friend. Cassie had a way about her that inspired anyone who met her. She was a very generous person who was willing to help in any way. Cassie will forever be missed by her family and friends.

Cassie is survived by her husband John Matschi, mother Becky Nenning, sister Christina (Todd Huettl) Metz, step-children Katelyn Matschi and Kylee “Kai” Matschi, nephews Cody and Billy, father-in-law Joseph (Pamela) Matschi, sister-in-law Karon Matschi, brothers-in-law Michael Matschi and his family, Kenneth Matschi and his family, as well as many other family and friends. 

The celebration of life for Cassie will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Mill City Church, 120 N. Lake Street, Neenah. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at Survivor Nutrition.

Cassie's family would like to give a warm thank you to her care team and ICU staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Further thanks go out to her wonderful support squad, especially Tammy and Walker for all of their compassionate care.
