CHARLES KURTTI

Charles M. Kurtti also known as “Chuck” passed away after an unexpected medical event on 10/29/2023.  He was born in Fargo ND on 1/3/1937 to Vaina and Johanna Kurtti.

Charles attended high school in Fargo ND, then went on to two years at Jamestown college in North Dakota and finished his degree at the University of Minnesota in history and engineering.  After college he went to work for Univac in Minneapolis and then in 1961 moved to Lake City MN where he worked at Gould National Batteries a local foundry. He started his career at Neenah Foundry in sales in 1976 and retired in 2002 as the Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering.

Charles enjoyed being active in the foundry industry; he was a lifelong member of the American Foundry Society and was privileged to serve as its president during his career. He had a passion for people, volunteering and service. He was part of the church council at Saint Paul Lutheran and served as a board member on various corporations and foundry related industries.

The things he held most dear were family, his golf game and travel. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and mentor throughout his life and career.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Mary Jo Kurtti and two children:  Scott C. Kurtti of Oshkosh, WI and Peter A Kurtti  (Bobbie) of Neenah WI. and  four grandchildren.  Megan Kurtti, Spencer Kurtti, Rachel Kurtti and Andrew Kurtti.

His funeral and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commercial Street, Neenah WI. Visitation will be held at the church starting at 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.  A lunch will follow the service, and a private family burial will conclude at 2:00 PM.
