Obituary

Susan Brinsko, age 72 of Neenah, passed away on December 31, 2023 after a two year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Sue was born June 29, 1951 in West Allis, Wisconsin to James C. and Bernice (Oelhafen) Grigg. She graduated from Central High School in West Allis in 1969 and received a degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She was a true and loyal Badger fan, always sporting her Bucky Badger pride.

Sue married Robert Brinsko on December 30, 1983 and settled in Elm Grove, eventually moving to a hobby farm in Eagle, Wisconsin, where they resided for over two decades. The family raised a menagerie of animals, including chickens, llamas, and chinchillas.

Sue was drawn to nature and loved connecting with the outdoors as much as she could. She loved gardening, walking in the woods, reading, hammocks, knitting, raising animals, and playing with her grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Emily Clare Brinsko; granddaughter, Violet Brinsko; and brother-in-law William Dygon.

Sue is survived by children Nicholas (Eleanor) Brinsko of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Katheryn (Matthew) Stadtmueller of Neenah, Wisconsin; grandchildren Peter and Anna Brinsko and Oliver and Lily Sue Stadtmueller; siblings Catherine (Dan) Knickelbein, Jackie Grigg, James E. (Denise) Grigg, David (Joyce) Grigg, and Charles (Ronda) Grigg; and nieces and nephews Timothy (Abbie) Knickelbein, Deborah Knickelbein, Sarah Knickelbein, James A. Grigg, Courtney Grigg, Robin Grigg.

Sue's family is forever grateful to Dr. Timothy Schmidt and his team at the UW Carbone Cancer Center for their unparalleled care and support for Sue during this journey.

A private ceremony was held at the Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona Wisconsin on January 4th.

We only got to know Susan for a brief time. She moved in across the street just before Covid. She was such a nice neighbor and wish we could have gotten to know her better. Our sympathies to her family. She was far to young!

I welcomed Susan into our neighborhood with a gift basket. She was always so nice to talk to. I met Jolene, her little Chihuahua, she loved. Then Mabel, her Corgi. She told me she always wanted a Corgi. She loved her so much! We talked about different things every time we saw each other outside. We both love dragonflies and animals. I prayed for her every night. I will miss talking with her. Wishing God will keep her family comforted during this time.
