DONALD MAYO

Donald E. Mayo, age 62, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was born on November 6, 1961, the son of the late Donald and Catherine Mayo. Don proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Judy Bushke on July 4, 1990, and they were blessed with 34 years together. Don enjoyed woodworking, nature, the Northwoods, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his creativity, sense of humor, generosity, and his love of God.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ponce-Mayo, their son, James Mayo, step-daughter, Sera Ponce, step- grandchildren Sam Bennett, Othello and Olivia Stanislawczyk, sisters Therese (Mike) Belongea, and Debbie (Shawn) Erickson, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents. A private ceremony will be held when Don is laid to rest in the spring, with military honors, at a veteran's cemetery.
