ARDIS LYONS

Ardis L. Lyons, age 88 of Menasha, passed away peacefully early Monday, January 8, 2024. She was born April 14, 1935 to the late Henry and Anita Krause in Oneida, WI and was a 1953 graduate of Seymour High School. She married James Lyons on October 29, 1994 and gained a family she called her own.

Ardis worked for 40 years for Hewitt Transmission as a secretary and in sales and enjoyed her retirement to the fullest. She and Jim enjoyed four trips to Hawaii, and European trips including Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. Ardis also took many train trips across North America with Jim and her friends from the National Railroad Museum. She experienced train rides from Maine to California and from Whistler, BC, Canada up to Alaska. In addition, Ardis was an avid Packer fan and followed the Badgers football team to multiple Bowl games in Tampa and Orlando, FL, and attended the 2000 Rose Bowl. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing.

For 65 years Ardis had been a very active member or Faith United Methodist Church, as it has always been known to her. She was a beautiful singer who contributed to the church choir for more than 50 years. She was also active on their finance committee, adult Bible studies, and the Women's Auxiliary of the Methodist Church.

Ardis is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim; and by his children: Michael (Debbie) Lyons; Deborah Bunnell; Diane Stapleton; and Scott (Belinda) Lyons; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Joyce Krause. Ardis was preceded in death by her siblings: Alice (Vernon) Duhm; Dolores Peterson; and Carl Henry Krause.

A Funeral Service for Ardis will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Faith Global Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Rd., Neenah, Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Ardis will be laid to rest at Appleton's Highland Memorial Park.
