Really sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Loved getting to know him not only at Westmar but when he surprisingly arrived in Maastricht when I was studying at Teikyo Europe. Having an PhD in miedieval history at your side exploring Europe was a treat not only for me, but for the rest of our cohort who got to know and love Jim and Leslie. His general demeanor in keeping lessons on history or philosophy light and comprehendable was a talent for only the most gifted. He was my favorite professor at Westmar and one of my favorite people to have a beer with and talk about life. While we hadn't seen each other in many years, I thought of him often. All the best to Leslie and the rest of the family. David Lyons

I'm so thankful I had the privilege to study under Dr. Skyrms in Maastricht. I adored him and Leslie and learned so much from both of them, on every subject under the sun. He had a huge and wonderful impact on me, and all of us students who share the memory of him sitting the big wooden shoe in Amsterdam. My condolences and prayers for comfort for your family as you grieve the loss of an exceptional man.

The Freeport High School Class of 1968 sends sympathy to Jim’s family and many friends. As a classmate, he was “Jamie” and such a bright man. He will not be forgotten from The Great ‘68.
