Obituary
Marvin D. Pagel, age 96, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born July 10, 1928 to the late Louis and Irma (Schoenrock) Pagel in Menasha and was a 1946 graduate of Neenah High School.
After graduation, Marv and many of his friends enlisted in the Navy. At the end of World War II, he was stationed in China, and then in the Philippines. He also served on the USS Quincy during the Korean war alongside his brother, John. After twelve years serving the military as 1st Class Petty Officer, Marv met Colleen May Halseth. The two married on April 9, 1955 and settled and lived on the west coast for many years where he worked as a pipe fitter for many different companies. After Colleen's passing in 2017, Marv moved back to the Fox Cities to be closer to his family.
Marv is survived by his brother, David (Donna) Pagel; sister, Sally (Gerald) Tummett; step-son, Richard Hansen; step-grandchildren: Daniel (Angie) Hansen and Becky Hansen; and by his step-great-grandchildren: Matt and Elenor. He is further survived by 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Harry, Kenneth, Robert (Jackie), John (Hazel); sister, Lois (Lyle) Barth; and by nephews: Jerry (Paula) Pagel, and Mark Pagel.
A funeral service for Marv will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on Westgor's YouTube page. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Marv will join Colleen at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Ballard Glenn and St. Croix Hospice for taking extra special care of him and keeping him safe, well-fed, and keeping his stuff exactly where he wanted it to be!
