Zac Brownie

Obituary
Zac Brownie, age 28 of Kaukauna, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, Menasha, and Neenah, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born in Wisconsin Rapids on May 29, 1998 to Joel and Dori (Olson) Brownie, and was a graduate of Menasha High School.
Zac will be remembered as the most loveable asshole you’d ever meet. He was a sassy, spunky guy with a quick wit and a smart mouth, and never let his diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) get him down. He cheated death on multiple different occasions but lived a life beyond his expected 18 years with vigor. He was regarded as an armchair chef, coming up with and suggesting delicious recipes that everyone loved, and was very talented and creative with his 3D printing projects. His favorite pastimes were playing video games with his brother, and messing around with his nephew, the only child in the world he ever liked and loved. He also enjoyed board games with his family and watching endless YouTube videos.
Zac is survived by his parents: Joel and Dori; brother and best friend, Nate (McKenna) Brownie and their son, Bennett; his service dog, Yates; his Grandma and Grandpa Olson; Grandma Brownie (Don); and by his aunts and uncles: Lori and Bob Kundert; Jon and Michelle Brownie; Lisa and Ian Grasshoff; and Brian Olson and Sarah. He is further survived by many cousins and close friends: Darci and Rich Van Veghel and their family; and John and Jacci Unger and their family.
A funeral service for Zac will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Menasha’s Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Zac will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Menasha.
The family kindly requests that attendants wear green in honor of Zac, as it was his favorite color, and was the ribbon color representing DMD.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Zac’s name.
