JAMES PLOOR

James M. Ploor, 90, of Neenah, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Jim was born May 22, 1920, in Neenah, the son of George and Adeline (Landio) Ploor. Jim proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Betty Olson and she preceded him in death in 1973. He was employed at Kimberly-Clarks Lakeview Plant for 43 years, retiring in March of 1982. Jim loved his garden, taking great pride in his tomato plants. He loved traveling, enjoying trips to the State Fair and Great America, Florida, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon, to name a few places they ventured to. He was known to take an occasional ride to the casino, and enjoyed fishing and listening to polkas and waltzes. Survivors include his sisters-in-law: Marge Ploor, Neenah, and Judy (Ron) Evans, Arkansas; his nephews: Tracy Sam (Lorrie) Olson, Jerry (Barbara) Olson, Jay Olson, Joe (Carolyn) Olson; his nieces: Mary Ploor, Cindy Elmer, Becky Verier, Linda Haufe and Chris Haufe; his neighbor and special friend, Robin Tonn; and his dogs, George and Tiffany. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, a brother, Edmund, sisters, Marian Dobish and Bernice Beans Koerner, and sisters-in-law, Erna (Robert) Olson and Audrey (Gib) Haufe. The Funeral Service for Jim will be Monday, November 8, 2010, 12:00 p.m., at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony McKenzie, Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Military honors and entombment will be held at the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum.
