Fritz Wachter

Friz was a colleague beginning at Horace Mann (then) Jr. High and continuing through the transition to Middle School configurations in Neenah, a good man and professional and father of two good students, too! My condolences to Rich and Jeff and families on this loss. Regrettably, I'll be unable to offer my sympathy in person as I'd prefer, as I'll be in Europe, so extend condolences now in this way, surprised to learn from the obituary that your mom had already passed, too. I hadn't heard. I can still hear Fritz saying in his post-retirement encounters with former staff, "Every day is Saturday!" (with delight!) RIP, Mr. Wachter. My sympathy to your sons and families .

The last time I talked to Fritz was at the funeral of another Neenah teacher. A good teacher is "gold." He paid his dues royally. As we in the Orthodox Church say, Memory Eternal. Jeff Zdrale, Retired central office administratoryally.

He seemed tough but he was kind. I remember in gym class, he must have noticed I was struggling and made other groups include me in the tumbling unit, otherwise I wouldn’t have passed the class. He cared. Prayers for his family.

Mr. Wachter was a huge influence in my life. A few years ago my wife and I had breakfast with him. He said, "Murph, we've known each other a long time. You can call me Fritz." I said "Thanks Mr. Wachter." I respected the man too much to not call him Mr. Wachter.

Thank you Fritz for your service during the war time you were always a friendly neigjbor
