William “Bill” J. Hesser died June 19, 2026 at the age of 96. He was born at home in Oshkosh to William S. Hesser and Theresa-Marie Hesser on March 14, 1930.
Bill attended St. Peters grade school and commuted four years to St. Mary’s in Menasha. He attended Marquette University for two years before starting his career owning and operating a used-car business on Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton for 14 years. In 1963, he managed Turley Pontiac and in 1967, purchased the Oldsmobile dealership in Neenah which eventually merged with Pontiac. His son, Hans, managed the dealership until 2005, at which time it was sold to Bergstrom Neenah.
Bill is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Rosemarie; three sons: William H. (Barb) Hesser; John (Mary Stuka) Hesser; and Hans Hesser; daughter, Julie (Eddie) Eichten; step-daughter, Debora (Jeff) Piper; step-son, Scott Robinson; and grandchildren: Jessica (Trevor) Scott; Eric (Nicole) Hesser; Kevin (Mellissa) Hesser; Corey Hesser; Heidi Hesser; Caitlyn Hesser; Rosalia Eichten; Aaron (Tamara) Piper; Carley (Dane) Piper; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Per Bill’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
