Obituary
Jean J. Seithamer passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28, 2026. Jean was born July 11, 1931, to Ernest and Molly Kruse, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She graduated from Neenah High School in 1949. After earning a Nursing degree at Theda Clark Hospital, she went on to work in St Paul, Minnesota. In 1957 Jean married Robert A. Seithamer and raised her three children in Neenah, WI. The family enjoyed many camping trips in Wisconsin, and throughout the United States. Exploring historic sites, hiking, making pudgy pies and singing songs around the campfire were favorite activities for Jean and her family.
Jean enjoyed working on many types of puzzles: jigsaw, sudoku, and crossword. Jean was an expert crossword and Scabble player and hard to beat playing Words with Friends. When helping her with a jigsaw puzzle you were never allowed to look at the picture for help. Looking at the box cover was considered cheating.
Jean was a lifetime Badger, Packer and Brewers fan. She enjoyed being in the crowd at a live game or watching from home. Always happy to share her joy or sorrow based on the game’s outcome. Always interested and proud of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids’ school and sporting activities. Jean’s sport of choice was league bowling. For many years she enjoyed bowling with her mother and a group of friends.
Jean was proceeded in death by her late husband, Robert A. Seithamer; and sisters: Carol Heckner, RuthAnn Loehning, and Shirly VanDyke. Jean is survived by two sisters: Helen Manser and Molly Sue Ruess; her daughters: Barb (Bill) McCarthy, Karla (David) Kaphaem; and son, Rob (Sue) Seithamer; three grandchildren: Emily (Kenny) Kaphaem-Veriga, Skyler Kaphaem, and Andy (Ellen) Seithamer; four great-grandchildren: Greyson, Jack, Sloane, and Rylie.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Jean will be laid to rest alongside Robert at St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah.
