“My dad has gone home. My heart breaks, yet I am happy for him and kind of envious. No more suffering or pain. He gets to meet our Lord and Savior. He gets to see my sister Sara again. He was the definition of a good man. He worked hard for his family and made sure we were always taken care of. Something he always said whenever I saw him was “do you need anything”. Every. Single. Time. He would be the guy out in the winter, plowing out the neighbors. He was always generous, giving, and wanting to help. The world needs more men like him. They are becoming few. He loved my mother well. They were such a cute little couple, together since a dance in 1962. She took great care of him, by his side till the end. I was blessed to have good parents. Anyone they knew were blessed to know them. There were multiple times I had heard, “Marv Gossen is your dad? He’s so great!” He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and silly sense of humor, and his famous line, “I’m so bright, my mother calls me son.” -Sue (Gossen) Broeren
