DANIEL HARTZHEIM

Daniel J. Hartzheim passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 17th 2024.

Dan was a very kind and caring man that would do anything for anyone. Dan had a great sense of humor, and often didn't take anything very seriously. Jokes were a favorite past time. Dan loved spending time with his family, especially his daughters and granddaughters, as much as he was able. Dan loved cookouts, camping, and spending time outdoors. And loved St. Patrick's Day and all the celebrations.  Dan had a strong passion for classic rock, particularly AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd.   Dan loved to ensure that everyone around him was able to hear music loud and clear. Dan loved going to see bands play when he was able to, and had attended several concerts with his daughters and other family members. 

Dan also had a strong love for muscle cars, also particular in the sense that he specifically loved Dodge Challengers.  Dan was very proud of his plum crazy purple Dodge Challenger with shaker hood and spent many hours in the summer waxing his car. Dan loved having his son in law (Scott) do burnouts in the driveway so he could record videos. He also participated in a number of car shows with his Challenger and ensured that himself, his daughters, and granddaughters had an abundance of Mopar gear. “Mopar or No Car!”.  Dan frequented a gas station near his home and they referred to him as ‘Mopar Man'. 

Dan was employed through Neenah Foundry as a chipper and grinder. Dan started his employment with Neenah Foundry on April 6th 1978 and never turned back.  Dan gave his all at work, just as he did in everything. Dan recently received an award for his 45th year of employment.  Dan gained many friendships through his employment and enjoyed joking with them. Dan even had the chance to work with both of his daughters at the foundry, for different periods of time, and this brought him joy.

Dan was everyone's dad, many of his children's friends referred to him as dad. Dan loved his three granddaughters so much, and spent a tremendous amount of time with them all. Dan was everyone's favorite son, brother, father, grampa, and friend.  Needless to say, Dan will be missed by many and has left his stamp of approval on everyone's heart.

Dan was taken from us too early, there will be a tremendous amount of grief, however; please remember all the good times and special memories that you share with him, he would want it that way. Please play some AC/DC and remember all the good times we have had, we know he will be.

Dan is preceded in death by his father (Ronald Hartzheim) and niece (Shannon).

Dan is survived by his mother, Barbara Harzheim, Daughters: Jessica (Joey) Hartzheim, Michelle (Scott) Mugerauer, granddaughters (Madison, Natalie and Hailey).  Sisters: April Hartzheim, Shelly (Dean) Schwarten, and Tammy Hawkins.  Brothers; Ron (Angie) Hartzheim, and Todd Hartzheim.  Dan is further survived by his nieces and nephews: Amber (Andy) McQuillan, Alex (Ramsey) Schwarten, Kody (Danielle) Hawkins, Kyle (Bryanna) Hawkins, Courtney (Tommy) Yang, and Sylvia. 

The family would like to thank Aurora Hospital staff for their compassion during this difficult time.

We love you dad.  Thank you for showing us the true meaning of love and being what we always needed the most.  We will miss you every day for always.  Jessie, Michelle, Scott, Joey, Madison, Natalie, and Hailey. 

Visitation for Dan will be held on at Westgor Funeral Home (205 W. Doty Ave, Neenah, WI 54956) on Saturday March 23rd 2024 from 12pm-2pm, service will begin at 2pm. Following service family and friends are invited to The Dome Sports Bar and Grill (1338 S Commercial St, Neenah, WI 54956) for a luncheon.
